INFINITY WAR CHARACTERS THAT MIGHT MAKE ME CRY--PAST HISTORY OF MOVIE CRYING--

Disclaimers: No Infinity War Spoilers; I have not seen. Don't spoil to me till Sunday; I'm seeing it Saturday. Spoilers for other MCU films, Toy Story 3, Star Wars: TFA, and La La Land. You have been warned.  I don't cry during movies. I was once a young kid like everyone, and I may have cried in fear when I saw Toy Story 3's incinerator scene. I honestly don't remember. But I only remember honest-to-goodness crying during one movie. I wanted to cry during Inside Out. I wanted to cry during Rogue One. I wanted to cry during The Last Jedi. I wanted to cry during Wonder Woman. I wanted to cry during Black Panther. I really wanted to cry during both Guardians films. And I might have choked up over a few Loki and Kylo scenes before. But there was only one film I honest-to-goodness cried-so-hard-like-a-baby-and-it-was-embarrassing. And that was La La Land. The whole movie had me viciously fighting tears, and, if you know me and movies, I have a reputation for not cryin

Just how many characters will be in infinity war? And who's going to die?

Yep, I'm doing this. What's the maximum characters we could have? Let's start:  Thor: Obviously, both Thor and Loki are shown in the trailers. (2) I imagine we'll see brief cameos from Korg, Meik, and Valkyrie (5) and possibly Heimdall. (6). We shouldn't be seeing Hela again.  Captain America: We're definitely seeing Cap and Bucky again. (8).  Iron Man: Tony and Pepper are confirmed. (10).  Avengers: Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Falcon, Dr. Strange, Wong too, Possibly Ant-Man (I don't think Wasp is in it?) Hawkeye should be eventually. Am I forgetting anyone? Oh, there's a good possibility we could see Coulson, Fury, or Hill. And obviously Banner and Spider Man. (33.)  Guardians: Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Yondu, Drax, Quill, etc. (41ish.)  Baddies: Thanos!! (42.) Proxima Midnight. (43.) I'm not sure how many are in the black order but we're safely over 45 at this point. I'll say about 46 at this point, I c

10 Important Life Lessons from Thor: Ragnarok (SPOILERS)

THOR: RAGNAROK MAY BE A COMEDY AT HEART, BUT THERE IS DEFINITELY A LOT GOING FOR IT. LET'S GET STARTED.  #10--GREEN REALLY IS THE BEST COLOR. I mean, this is a bit of a stupid one to start with, but come on, who doesn't love a little green when going into battle. Hela proves that Loki made the right fashion statement.  #9--DRINKING WON'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS. Sorry, Val, but the bottle won't ease the pain. You have to do that yourself. And, you don't wanna die, right?  #8--SOME PEOPLE ARE IRREDEEMABLE. Sorry to break it to you, but Hela is an evil being, sealed away for a time, because she couldn't be tamed. When she's released, she is unstoppable, the only way to stop her being to destroy her. Unfortunately, not everyone can be redeemed or saved, no matter how hard you try. They have to choose it for themselves.    #7--YOU AREN'T THE PROPERTY OF OTHERS. The Grandmaster, head of Sacaar, tries to "own" his citizens by giving them false s

Thor: The Dark World is Dark...I Mean It's Really, Really, Dark. (REVIEW: SPOILERS!)

Thor: The Dark World, the second installment in the Thor trilogy adds a new layer of depth not previously explored in the franchise, while Earth parts still leave much to be desired...or not.  Thor: The Dark World is regarded as one of the weakest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is certainly...well, for lack of a better term, odd. Not bad, odd. The plot revolves around an ancient force called the aether being re-awakened and possessing Thor's earthly girlfriend, Jane Foster after the events of The Avengers. There is a convergence occurring on a cosmic level, weird warps between worlds, and, of course, well...naked Dr. Selvig.  Well, not exactly naked, as it is a PG-13 movie after all. But Dr. Selvig, who was Jane's mentor in the first film, and possessed by Thor's brother Loki in the Avengers, is not exactly a character we needed to see go cuckoo. It's interesting nonetheless, watching a pixelated Dr. Selvig running around a television screen, naked,

WE'RE NOT OKAY--POWER OF ILLUSION (THOR: THE DARK WORLD)

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOR: THE DARK WORLD, AND THE THOR STORY. MINOR SPOILERS FOR THOR: RAGNAROK. DISCLAIMER: HEAVY TOPIC. FAKE MOVIE BLOOD IN PHOTO. IF THIS MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE, PLEASE LEAVE.  Life is hard. There is no question about that. There should be no glossing over it. There should be no sugarcoating of this fact. There should be no need to hide it. And yet, somehow, we constantly trick ourselves, trick those around us, that we are just fine, no matter what. We hide it, even from our best friends, our own family, those who are closest. We isolate ourselves to prove that we don't need help, that we are just fine, and that cutting our lifelines will somehow ease the pain.... ALSO, THIS GETS REALLY HEAVY. I HAVE MY CADBURY MINI EGGS HERE, XD  Let me re-introduce you to our good friend, Loki. In Thor: The Dark World, his arc is quite interesting. He is imprisoned for his Earth crimes, in a transparent cell in the dungeons of Asgard, presumably eternally. (After getting

Thor girls vs. Loki girls--the differences.

Let's do this. Settle it once and for all!  Chris Hemsworth is soooooooooooo hot!! Dem abs tho!!!  Dude, that's crazy. Tom Hiddleston is so amazing! Except for him dating that b Taylor Swift. What a distasteful and gross person, ugh!  Ooooohhh, I loooooove Taylor Swift. I can't wait to see her relationship w Joe Alwyn goes!!!!!!! Dang, we were talking about Tom Hiddleston. Loki. I mean Loki.  Loki sucks lol haha lolololol he doesn't have anything going; he's rly skinny and he has no abbbbs, lol!!!!!!! Dude, you're so rude! I shall destroy you, brother!  You're creepy, lol! I'm a guuuurrlll!  Oh, dang it! So, you down for a funny cat video? Oh, you mean that cute cat!??!?!?!?!? It'ssss soooooo cute!! You mean the black one?  Ugh, no! The yellow one!!! So, cuteeeeee!!! 😻 Oh, okay.  So, whassup??? I'm at the mall w my friends!!!!! Oh, cool. I'm just chillin'. I'm playing my PS4.

We need to Talk--Thor and Loki's dysfunctional relationship in partial defense of Loki

I've discussed a lot of things previously about Thor, and especially Loki. Now here comes the ultimate rundown of their relationship as siblings.  I want to make a big case for adopted siblings, right here and now. It's no different, nor should it be, than having a biological sibling, especially if they were raised together. Yes, I know there aren't any genetic complications, but shipping them is just damn morally creepy, guys. So, no, I DON'T SHIP IT. (Also yeah, I totally get a queer vibe from Loki, but Thor is 500% straight. Dem abs, and Natalie Portman, lol.)  Whatever. I'm done.  Okay. So, we need to talk. Loki and Thor. So, tons of spoilers for Thor movies and the Avengers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.  Loki is a layered and complex character compared to Thor, but Thor is not perfect. At least not in the beginning. (Dem abs, though.) Yeah, Loki sets him up, but Thor is a reckless King, and he does lose his temper. A lot. Actually, like all the time. I

Why I have a crush on a CHARACTER and not an actor--just shake it off

I'm *cough* listening to Harry Styles while writing this.  Also, anyone who dates TS is creepy AF. I think I'm getting super sidetracked. A dismayed Lokia of earlier this evening stated that no one should justify murder, and complained that crushing on Loki was justifying murder of eighty people in two days and that teenage girls were idiots. To which, Lokia's dad came to the rescue (wut) and said, "I think you have a crush on an actor."  Oh, crap. I love you, Tom Hiddleston, but I think that teenage girls crushing on actual adults is SUPER CREEPY. I mean, Adam Driver is MARRIED, say what????? That's super creepy; you aren't supposed to have crushes on anyone who is dating or married, even if you'll never meet them, it's creepy AF.  Okay. We got that out of the way. Nevermind, I seriously don't really care what other girls do, but I'm 500% asexual--at least I THINK.... Oh God, I think sex is super gross (no offense if you

THEME SONGS FOR EVERY MAJOR CHARACTER IN THOR: RAGNAROK

Lol. Thought I'd do something funny for once.  Thor: Self-evident if you've seen the movie.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8OtzJtp-EM Loki: I was thinking of his desire for a legacy, and memorability and I thought of "Centuries" by Fall Out Boy, but I came up with a better one. Loki what you made me do.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K0RzZGpyds Seriously though, it's PERFECT. "I don't like your kingdom keys, they once belonged to me....I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me...."  Valkyrie: (Can't spell this....) This is hard. She's tough, but not exactly self-empowering. And also drunk. Very, very drunk. Thanks Bey, being sexy and drunk.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkJZkotDrN4 I know it's also not a very badass song, but it's all I could think of when I thought about Valkyrie.  Hela: Maybe I should've saved Taylor for her, lol. But I think this works well too. She's definitely NOT sorry.  ht

Hurts, doesn't it....

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU'RE EASILY DEPRESSED OR SENSITIVE TO STORIES ABOUT ILLNESS AND DEATH DON'T READ THIS. In my post about Loki's reliability I mentioned that I had had the ball dropped before, and that it was too personal of a story to share. Well, I can't keep all this in, so I'm just going to spill it.  I got lied to. Well, sort of. And I'm still suffering psychological impact from it. I wouldn't say it's PTSD, but more like just sleep, eating, and schoolwork issues. Yeah. I might fail tenth grade because of this.  And am I trying to make the party(s) in question feel guilty? No. Not really. But a part of me says yes. Make them feel it. If they could try to understand.... June 12th. Let me just pain the picture. My mother's had cancer for over a year, with treatment after treatment being a success, but ultimately spreading to the brain. Those are the trouble spots. And they keep showing up. June 12th. Routine scans. What I hear: "The tr

DESPERATELY OVER-ANALYZING THE TWO LOKI SHOTS IN INFINITY WAR TRAILERS--ALSO I'M A NOOB SORRY.

Image
Well, welcome to me over-analyzing everything and sounding like an idiot.  This is the first shot. Trailer 1 at 1:08.  Yep. It's Loki, and it's the tesseract. There isn't TOO much to say, but let's just say he looks....scared? Or maybe he's gone crazy from having the power of infinity stones? I kinda doubt it. He almost looks more in awe, wondering what will become of the universe. But something is definitely up. Is he reluctantly handing it over to Thanos in fear for his life? Is he handing it over to the Avengers, sad to see it go, and afraid of its fate? (Less likely.) He definitely does look more scared than anything. So I'd guess the former option. All I know is that we've seen this outfit on Loki before (it looks good) but that's probably not relevant. But hold on. That IS the outfit he's wearing at the end of Ragnarok? So does this take place immediately when we pick up with Thor and Loki? He's handing it to Thanos confirmed. (Jus
